Reinventing the Travel Experience

Job seekers lined up early this weekend for the chance to land a concessions job at LAX, with more than 400 applicants attending the Concessionaire Hiring Fair held on April 16. In partnership with Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), we hosted the hiring event to fill more than 350 concessions positions available at LAX. Job seekers were able to apply and get hired on the spot.

Marking a first for LAX, the event offered same-day airport security badging appointments to expedite the new employee onboarding process. While all airport concessions employees must complete the badging process before starting their job, getting an appointment can often take weeks.

“We were thrilled with not only how many applicants came out, but also to be able to partner with LAWA and our concessions operators to facilitate on-the-spot hiring,” said Christopher Adkins, URW Assistant General Manager, LAX. “The nation’s workforce is in historic demand, but we knew the caliber of jobs available—along with the opportunities for career growth we help provide—would be attractive for job seekers. It’s exciting to welcome our next generation of concessions employees, and we are committed to supporting their success here at LAX.”

Available positions included cooks, cashiers, baristas, utility crew, operations managers, senior assistants, managers, supervisors, lounge attendants, customer service representatives, warehouse personnel and more.

Fifteen companies participated in the event, including HMSHost, Crews, Concord Collective Partners, Delaware North Companies, Paradies Lagardere, Area, Hudson Group, Marshall Retail Group, Stellar News, and InMotion.
