In 2022, following the completion of a $400 million terminal expansion and modernization, Terminal 8 welcomed oneworld partners British Airways, China Southern, and Iberia.

The project will elevate the terminal experience and design aesthetic, with improved sightlines and passenger flow, dramatic new architectural elements and engaging commercial districts, including a new Great Hall, chef-driven food hall, premier experiential duty-free shopping, a performance spaces, and unique new offerings including health, wellness and virtual storefronts and a new digital journey.

We are invested in growing and supporting diversity, equity and inclusion throughout the project, including exceeding Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) and Airport Concessions Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (ACDBE) goals. The team will take an innovative approach to lowering barriers to entry for diverse and small local businesses, including a designated incubator program for Queens businesses and Locally Based Enterprises (LBE), ghost kitchen and virtual storefront opportunities, and more.

With a global portfolio of premier consumer destinations –including airports, transit, and shopping centers— URW is uniquely positioned to help showcase brands at their best and connect local communities and organizations to our programs.
