“CHA-CHING! SALES BOOMING AT REVAMPED TERMINAL”

— The Chicago Tribune, 2015
Since 2011, URW has partnered with the Chicago Department of Aviation (CDA) to transform Terminal 5, boost sales and revenue, and create jobs and opportunities. Capturing the spirit of Chicago, the $26M transformation features double the concession space, an exciting dining and retail lineup featuring unique local brands, a redesigned TSA checkpoint, and a cutting-edge design.

Among URW’s achievements since 2011 are exceeding diversity goals; URW surpassed the City of Chicago’s goals in MBE, WBE, and ACDBE in concessions and contracting opportunities. Through the re-development, URW also created 300 construction jobs and nearly doubled the full-time workforce. More than 75% of full-time concessions employees are Chicago residents.

In Fall 2020—just six months into the COVID-19 pandemic—URW and Servy launched contactless mobile ordering at Terminal 5. Now, URW, in partnership with Servy, and Chicago-based, minority-owned Hyde Park Hospitality, has been selected to launch a mobile ordering platform across all terminals, enabling O’Hare customers to easily search, browse, order, and pay for food, beverages, and retail products from their phones for convenient pick-up or delivery.
